1-2 October: Dorothy Dyer attends the RASA (Reading Association of South Africa) annual conference in Pietermaritzburg.
10 October: Mignon Hardie attends the LIASA Conference in Durban to host a workshop on mobile literacy organised by the Goethe-Institute and with Nal’ibali and African Storybook Project
11 October: Nandipha Tshabane and Masibulele Lunika attends the Equal Education’s launch of Amagama Enkululeko in Khayelitsha with the luminary Zakes Mda giving the main address. The book – Amagama Enkululeko – is available on fundza.mobi!
15 October: Sandra Hill and Zimkhitha Mlanzeli host a “Writing Me” workshop at IkamvaYouth, Makasa.
15 October: Nandipha Tshabane speaks at the Kwa-Faku Vulindlele Reading Club in Lower Crossroads.
17 October: Dorothy Dyer checks in with the YEBO (Year Beyond) volunteers at the AVA offices.
17 October: Mignon Hardie stays up late (from 10-11pm) to tell Mehboob Bawa and the Smile FM listeners all about FunDza.
17-19 October: Sonja Kruse and Ndibulele Sotondoshe attend the outreach programme stemming from the Knysna Literary Festival and host creative writing workshops up the coast in sunny Knysna.
19 October: Nandipha Tshabane and Masibulele Lunika film training videos at Matthew Goniwe Memorial High School.
19 October: Dorothy Dyer visits Intlanganiso High School for YEBO.
20 October: Dorothy Dyer presents at the Innovation in Education seminar on the topic: Creating a culture of literacy in formal and informal settings.
21 October: Sonja Kruse runs a “Branding Me” workshop in Vrygrond for Fit For Life.
24-25 October: Nandipha Tshabane attends the Africa Unite session on the “It’s your Right” Booklets.
24-28 October: Sonja Kruse hosts ECD reading workshops at False Bay College, Khayelitsha.
