We are delighted to announce the winners of the My Life My Choice Course Competition! The course was sponsored by JnJ’s DREAMS Thina Abantu Abasha project (you can read more about them here) and ran from 1 October 2021 till the 14 November. We hope that all the 2000 people who completed the course feel that they benefited from the stories and articles on the course that explored issues and challenges faced by young people today. Reading enriches us all…But it was a competition, and so there had to be winners! Everyone who completed the course with 50% or above was entered into a random draw to select the 10 winners who will walk off with R1000 and a goodie bag, thanks to Dreams Thina Abantu Abasha. Congratulations to these ten winnners:

I appreciate the consideration of being one of the 10 winners of the My life, My choice course competition. This was a great opportunity for me to learn about making better choices with the story that I read. I am currently unemployed and I am going to use some of the prize money to pay for data to apply for jobs online. The rest of the money I am going to buy baby necessities for my 4 months old son.

I feel so happy that I have won the competition. I will buy some uniform for my daughter who will be graduate grade R and starting her new life journey next year. Thank you so much FunDza Literacy Trust, you’ve made me happy.

I’ll start by saying thank you FunDza. With this money I will buy christmas clothes for my children, that was my stress, it’s solved. And hopefully grocery for my family.

Kearebetswe Mogapi – North West

I feel elated to have been selected as one of the winners from hundreds if not thousands of participants for the course competition. It’s really a humbling experience considering the hardships I have experienced over the past 3years, there was a time I doubted I will rise again but still I rise like a phoenix. Thank you once again to Fundza Literacy Trust! After facing heavy storms of near death experience and unemployment, I started a new job so will buy food and toiletry as not sure when I will be getting paid!

I’m very happy cause reading is amazing and as I’m still in school it helps a lot and with the money I won I’m just going to save it for now for future use.
