Ros Haden, Shakes Kubuitsile, Lauri Kubuitsile and Dorothy Dyer

We were excited when we heard that one of our FunDza writers, Lauri Kubuitsile, was coming down on holiday from Botswana and that she wanted to come and visit us and have a swim at Muizenberg!
Lauri’s has written over twenty short stories for the FunDza mobi library and they are some of our readers all-time favourites. Her Lola Molefi series introduced the much-loved, feisty young investigator who solves at least three mysteries per story.
A new edition to our ‘Book Section’ of the library are her Kate Gomolemo series. Kate is and indomitable investigating officer who readers love, not just for her crime-solving skills but also because we become involved in her home-life and her challenges in love. The most recent Kate Gomolemo mystery, Claws of a killer was a great way to start the New Year and was published on New Year’s day.

We had lunch with Lauri and her husband, Shakes, at the beautiful Casa Labia in Muizenberg. There was much laughter and good food and wine! (We hope though that we didn’t give Lauri too much information for her to use in her next stories…!)
I am looking forward to the next Lola Mystery, and many more great new short stories from Lauri this year.
