dianne-stewartFunDza was so delighted when Dianne Stewart donated two beautiful brand new laptops for two aspiring young writers, who were selected by FunDza. For many of our young aspiring writers, access to a computer is difficult. Many use their phones to write and send through their work.

FunDza decided to select two writers who showed talent and dedication to their writing, who were studying at tertiary level (so that the laptops could have added benefits for their studies) and who did not have access to a laptop of their own. The two lucky people were Anathi Nyadu and Christopher Themba.

Mignon Hardie had the pleasure of handing over the first laptop to  FunDza Fanz writer, and a previous FunDza writing competition winner, Christopher Themba, when she was in Joburg. Chris is a great poetry writer and, we hope, will be mentored too to write short stories for our readers.

Anathi Nyadu was presented with his laptop when he came to Cape Town for the launch of #LoveReading in which his story, ‘In My Hands’ was published.  He is also the writer of the popular blog, The Diary of Zinzi Zwane.

These laptops will make a huge difference in the writing lives of Chris and Anathi. Both were overwhelmed by receiving this life-changing gift.

Thank you, Dianne, for your generous donation. It means so much.
