7 June: FunDza welcomes Heather Hayes and Eva Cortes as volunteers for their internship period. Both are studying at the University of Kentucky, USA.
9 June: FunDza, in conjunction with Maxi-D Productions, launches a writing competition – Noem My Skollie/Call Me Thief – which uses as inspiration the film based on the life of former gangster and story-teller John W. Fredericks.
10 June: Sonja runs the final Reading for Enjoyment Campaign at False Bay College, Fish Hoek Campus, for the year
20 & 22 June: Year Beyond Project: Running fun reading and language games workshops with volunteers.
22 June: Dianne Case, author of The Rules, launches her new YA title at the Book Lounge. This book is used in FunDza’s Popularising Reading programme.
23 June: Sicelo Kula, writer of FunDza short stories and Cover2Cover books, will be speaking to members of the Athlone group of U3A (University of the Third Age) about his writing career thus far.
28 June: FunDza will be hosting its ‘Writing Good Essays’ workshop with Ikamva Labantwana Bethu’s Winter School.
