Even though we can’t believe we’re more than halfway through February, here is what we have been and what we will be up to in February:
6 February: Sonja Kruse provides training for the 2017 Year Beyond Volunteers in fun activities and games.
14 February: Sonja meets with staff at False Bay College’s Khayelitsha and Muizenberg campuses to plan this year’s Reading for Enjoyment campaign.
15 February: Mignon Hardie takes the day off to attend an Equine Coaching and Leadership Development workshop at the Oude Molen Stables, hosted by Ute Kuhlmann and Karen of Leadership Embodiment. A fun day learning leadership through horses!
16 February: Nandi Tshabane checks in some of our beneficiaries: Children Happy Home, Development Youth Centre in Khayelitsha, and Kwa-Faku reading club in Phillipi.
16-17 February: Dorothy Dyer and new intern, Tamica Mopp, attend the WCED-organised After School Symposium.
16 February: Sonja hosts a World Read Aloud Day-inspired workshop at False Bay College Muizenberg.
16 February: Nandi attend a Partners for Possibility’s School Leadership Forum at the Oude Moulen Academy for Science and Technology.
17 February: Sonja hosts Reading for Enjoyment sessions at False Bay College, Fish Hoek.
18 February: Nandi launches the FunDza Lab Reading Club at Langa Library, and Sonja runs a Reading for Enjoyment introductory session for the new members.
19 February: Mignon attends the launch of It Takes Two! Vol. 3 in Durban at Ike’s Bookshop.
20 February: Sonja Kruse runs a “Branding Me” workshop for the Etafeni Fit for Life group.
23 February: Nandi checks in with Beautiful Gate Foundation in Phillipi.
24 February: Sonja runs the second Reading for Enjoyment day at False Bay College, Fish Hoek.
